  3. And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he should not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ (Lk 2:26).  Hail Mary...
  4. When the parents brought in the child Jesus… [Simeon] took him up in his arms and blessed God (Lk 2:27-28).  Hail Mary…
  5. [Simeon] said, “Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word” (Lk 2:28-29).  Hail Mary…
  6. “For mine eyes have seen thy salvation which thou hast prepared in the presence of all peoples, a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory to they people Israel” (Lk 2:30-32).  Hail Mary…
  7. Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother, “Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising of many in Israel, and for a sign that is spoken against” (Lk 2:34).  Hail Mary…

  9. And there was a prophetess, Anna… She did not depart from the temple, worshipping with fasting and prayer night and day (Lk 2:36-37).  Hail Mary…

The Fifth Joyful Mystery: The Finding of the Child Jesus in the Temple

  1. Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the Passover…. And when the feast was ended, as they were returning, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem (Lk 2:41, 43).  Hail Mary…
  2. His parents did not know it, but supposing him to be in the company they went a day’s journey (Lk 2:43-44).  Hail Mary…
  3. They sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintances; and when they did not find him, they returned to Jerusalem, seeking him (Lk 2:44-45).  Hail Mary…
  4. After three days they found him in the temple, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions (Lk 2:46).  Hail Mary…
  5. All who heard him were amazed at his understanding and his answers.  And when [Mary and Joseph] saw him they were astonished (Lk 2:47-48).  Hail Mary…
  6. His mother said to him, “Son, why have you treated us so?  Behold, your father and I have been looking for you anxiously” (Lk 2:48).  Hail Mary…
